We deploy our in-depth knowledge of local sovereign immunity rules to identify attachable assets and fund-flows, assess what purpose they are used for, find creative leverage points and build arguments that a state-owned entity lacks economic independence and is an emanation of the state.

ACQUISITION DILIGENCE

We help investors to assess the attractiveness of potential investments by: identifying attachable assets, legitimate pressure points and successful, and unsuccessful precedents of recovery; studying the sovereign debtor’s history of settling disputes; gathering intelligence about internal decision-making processes and key stakeholders; and assessing political or practical obstacles to settlement or recovery (‘Buy-side Diligence’).
